When does your passion for EDM date back to?
Passion for EDM goes back to 2011. Some cool tunes by Tiësto, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren. Big names in that year that made all of us dance. Hardwell was also starting to be known so we were enjoying a lot of the music of that year.
Producers that you would recommend we check out?
We recommend checking out great artists like ONNT3X, D4ZX, Dropper Vampire and Lynxbangerz. They released a couple of tracks with us and we’re so happy to count with artists like them. You should check them out without a doubt. You won’t get disappointed.
Who are your current favorite up-and-coming Artists?
We could say Bogar Uriel, Sebastian Blvck, POIZZONED, and Red Showtell. They are rising producers who released their first release with us this year. We bet a lot that they will be great artists in the not-too-distant future. You should check them out as well.
What kind of strategy does the label use to promote music?
We’ve a couple of strategies. Label boss DAANERZ promotes our releases in his radio show as exclusive, and our manager Azael does the same with his. We also send our releases as promo to some DJs. We’ve received great support from DJs like Blasterjaxx, Yves V, Mykris, Winning Team and so on. We’re so grateful to receive this kind of support and from the people who share and enjoy our releases, too, and the other DJs who support our tracks in their radio shows.
Imagine you are starting Legion Records from Scratch itself so what will you include in the Checklist?
We think we could send promos to DJs. That is something that we didn’t do in the past and now we know how important it in these days is.
With so many other Dance/EDM labels out there, how do you differentiate yourself?
We could say that we sign artists that have great ideas on their tracks, very structured and with potential, not referring on their media stats. So, we give the opportunity to the people that deserve it.
What advice can you give to emerging artists who are trying to break into the EDM scene?
Don’t Give Up! At the beginning could be hard, but always stay focused and do whatever makes you happy. Always try to accept positive criticism, feedback from professional artists, advice, etc., to improve and perform better.
How does a label go about finding new unsigned talent nowadays?
Curious, but that’s a good question indeed. Talking about the artists, some labels are looking for good Spotify listeners in their profiles or good followers in their SoundCloud page. Of course, that’s a good reason to sign some talent but, for us, we give the opportunity to artists who have great ideas in their demos, good vibes, and energy onthem, it doesn’t matter if they’re new in the scene or if they don’t even have a Spotify profile.
Lastly, what do you look forward to in 2023?
We’re looking forward to signing new talents out there. We are still focused on giving the opportunity to rising artists, but our main goal is to reach for some middle-big names in the scene. And of course, we want to still grow up as a label.
