After over 23 years of shaping the careers of some of the biggest names in pop music, legendary manager Scooter Braun has announced his retirement from artist management. Braun, the driving force behind superstars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, revealed his decision in an emotional statement on social media. Reflecting on his career, Braun described it as a “Forrest Gump-like life,” filled with unforgettable experiences and significant contributions to the success of world-renowned artists.
In his heartfelt message, Braun expressed deep gratitude for the journey but acknowledged a growing desire to shift his focus away from the demanding role of managing artists. “It’s a strange feeling,” Braun admitted. “While I think I’ve wanted this for a while, there was a fear of asking ‘who would I be without them?’” Starting his career at a young age, he has now decided to prioritize his family life and explore new ventures.
As Braun steps away from artist management, he will take on a more prominent role at HYBE America, the company he joined following HYBE’s acquisition of Ithaca Holdings in 2021. Ithaca includes SB Projects and Big Machine Music Group. Braun expressed confidence in Allison Kaye and Jennifer McDaniels, who will now lead SB Projects. He praised them as “two incredibly powerful women” who are poised to drive the company into a new era, potentially becoming the industry’s most impressive women-led management business.
