Terronce Morris and Blake Kelly have pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, after fraudulently obtaining $1.35 million by promising to produce a music festival that was nothing but an illusion.
The duo had audaciously claimed that their nonexistent festival would feature performances by some of the biggest names in music, including Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, and Post Malone. To lend credibility to their scheme, Morris and Kelly went as far as presenting fake contracts with forged signatures of these artists and even staged a video call with someone impersonating Bieber.
Their elaborate deception convinced a victim to send them a staggering $1.35 million, money that was meant to bring this phantom festival to life.
