Marco Carola’s famed Music On Festival ground to a halt this morning in Amsterdam after local authorities revoked its permit just hours before the gates were set to open.
The decision, which canceled the main event at Meerpark for May 9th and 10th, came following a “negative safety advice” from the Environmental Agency regarding the festival’s tent structures.

While the outdoor grooves were silenced, the party isn’t entirely over—the Music On By Night afterparties at Hemkade 48 are still proceeding as scheduled.
Organizers expressed deep disappointment and are currently working on a refund process for the thousands of affected ticket holders.
