Bicep’s Matt McBriar Survives Life-Threatening Brain Tumor Surgery!

Matt McBriar, one half of the critically acclaimed electronic music duo Bicep, recently underwent surgery to remove a rare brain tumor. The talented DJ and producer shared his experience with fans via Instagram, revealing that he had been dealing with headaches and fatigue since late 2023. Concerned about his symptoms, McBriar underwent blood tests earlier this year, which indicated that something was wrong. Further investigations, including MRI and CT scans, uncovered a craniopharyngioma tumor on his pituitary gland.

A craniopharyngioma is a typically benign tumor, but its location on the pituitary gland can lead to serious complications if not detected early. The tumor’s growth can put pressure on nearby nerves, blood vessels, or brain tissue, potentially causing significant health issues, including vision loss. Fortunately, McBriar’s tumor was caught in the early stages, which prevented further damage.

In his statement, McBriar expressed relief and gratitude for the early diagnosis, stating, “The good news is firstly, it’s almost certainly not cancerous and secondly, I’ve caught it in the earlier stages of damage.” He acknowledged the importance of the initial blood tests and timely MRI, which likely spared him from more severe consequences.

As McBriar recovers in the hospital, fans and the music community continue to send their well-wishes, hoping for his swift return to health and the stage.
