Beatport’s Power Play: CFO Matt Gralen Promoted to President – What’s Next?

In a strategic move to reinforce its leadership team, Beatport, the renowned online streaming and retail platform, has announced the elevation of Matt Gralen to the position of President. The company has also welcomed Helen Sartory as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Both Gralen and Sartory will report directly to CEO Robb McDaniels at Beatport’s London headquarters, marking a significant development for the company.

Matt Gralen, who currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Beatport, will be taking on an expanded role as President. In addition to continuing his financial responsibilities, Gralen will collaborate closely with McDaniels in strategizing for the overall group. Gralen joined Beatport in August 2022 as CFO, and his swift rise to the position of President underscores his valuable contributions to the company’s financial and strategic endeavors.

Helen Sartory, the newly appointed Chief Revenue Officer, comes with a background as the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Beatport’s creator services. In her new role, Sartory will oversee all revenue entities within the Beatport group, including Beatport, Beatsource, Plugin Boutique, Loopcloud, LabelRadar, and Beatport Amp. Her extensive experience in the company’s creator services positions her well to navigate and enhance the revenue streams across these diverse entities.

These executive appointments come under the leadership of CEO Robb McDaniels, who has steered Beatport through considerable financial growth since taking on the role in 2017. The company’s annual revenue has more than tripled under McDaniels’ guidance. Beatport’s success can be attributed to a strategic focus on strengthening its core DJ offerings and diversifying its retail contributions, with the group introducing or acquiring eleven products since 2019.

As Beatport continues to evolve and expand its footprint in the music streaming and retail space, the strategic appointments of Matt Gralen and Helen Sartory signal a commitment to sustained growth and innovation. The dynamic leadership team aims to capitalize on the momentum and further solidify Beatport’s position as a key player in the ever-evolving music industry landscape.
